Career Exploration Project (Class of 2021)

All students in the class of 2021 are required to complete a gradution project as part of their high school graduation requirements. The graduation project is a career-based project in order to align with new state standards, which focuses on career exploration as it aligns with Pennyslvania’s Future Readiness Index.

In order for a student to fulfill our graduation project, which is now being referred to as the Career Exploration Project, students will:

  • Select an employer and contact them directly to request to paticipate in a ½ day job shadowing experience
  • Students can job shadow parents, other family members, neighbors, etc.
  • Visit the place of employment for a minimum of 5 hours
  • Conduct an employer interview/ job shadow in order to complete the career information chart
    • Students can complete their job shadowing experience anytime from now until March 10th
  • Students will present their career exploration experience to their peers and designated staff as it will allow students to learn information about other careers/jobs
    • Presentations will take place on March 11, 2020
    • Presentations should be well organized and comprehensive to include the information you learned by addressing all of the areas of the career chart.
    • Presentation should be between 3-5 mins in length. Please do not exceed more than 5 minutes.
