The Phoenixville Area High School was proud to honor over two dozen veterans in attendance at its annual Veterans Day Celebration.
This year’s focus was on the First Gulf War, also known as Desert Shield. Members of the PAHS Student Government presented a detailed look at the circumstances which led to this war, the allied response, and the aftermath. Other highlights included the presentation of the colors, a PASD Community Ensemble performance of “Give Peace a Chance”, the story behind Taps, the lighting of a candle of remembrance, the playing of Taps by senior Dionna Jackson, a special salute from the veterans to our students, and the presentation of a $500 check to PA Wounded Warriors in honor of our veterans.
