PAHS Medical Program Success
The roots of Matthew Hirsch’s successful medical career started with a medical program forged by the Phoenixville Area School District and Phoenixville Hospital. Matthew is a Phoenixville Area High School 1999 graduate. While attending PAHS he participated in a medical field experience program at Phoenixville Hospital. This program allowed students to spend part of their school day in Phoenixville Hospital, shadowing the doctors and professional staff while working as aides.
After graduation, Matt went on to Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster and then to the Drexel University College of Medicine. Currently, he is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and practices Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.
Matthew and his family recognize the positive impact the Phoenixville community had on his successful career. This collaborative medical program between Phoenixville High School and Phoenixville Hospital is still a major success for many high school students who wish to enter the medical field.
